From coin drops to flares, the annual San Francisco Hip Hop Dance Festival showcases the most innovative hip-hop dance companies based in and outside the States. The festival is held over three days at the Palace of Fine Arts.
The festival was established in 1999 by founder and artistic director Micaya. Typically there are two programmes: Programme A, held on Friday and Sunday matinée and Programme B, on Saturday and Sunday evening.

Joining the many local performers - Funkanometry SF, SoulSector, Loose Change and the like - there are companies from both across the States and abroad, where visitors have included OTI from Vancouver, Moving Shadows from Vienna and both Flawless and Plague from Britain.
