Nov. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Patti Beckham a 1969 graduate of Pecos High School has launched her first literary endeavor, The Orla Flash. Ms. Beckham grew up in the small town of Orla, Texas riding the school bus fifty miles one way to receive an education.  As the author of The Orla Flash, she recalls her life in the West Texas town of Orla, Texas.  This small town consists of nothing more than just an ultra-crossroad.  From education, workforce, learning experiences and family she has seen the country view to the big city life.  Learning experiences have come from the rural roots to the corporate world.

When Ms. Beckham was asked how she named her book she told the story of her Physical Education teacher, the late Mrs. Cecilia Stickles who gave her this nick name while in high school.  Mrs. Stickles was a true mentor to Ms. Beckham.  She says,  “ You always remember those teachers who believe in you.”

Ms. Beckham states, “When people realize your work ethic and talents you have the power to move forward with a successful career.”  Sales and marketing have been Ms. Beckham’s career for the past 30 years.  Her greatest enjoyment has been watching people’s dreams come true and taking care of people in the time of need.  She gives credit to people whom she is surrounded.

“Life is teaching ourselves about overcoming obstacles but we all remember where our deep roots come from,” Beckham states.  You will enjoy the focus of West Texas, which few books do, a girl’s outlook for a change, the joy of having children and the importance of strong parents.  But needless to say it is ultimately realizing living and learning.  We all have a story to tell!

Ms. Beckham recalls one of her favorite verses “If you have the faith of a mustard seed, nothing is impossible for you.” —Matthew 17:20.  Having lived by this scripture the majority of her life it is amazing that her accomplishments have been quite successful.  A businesswoman from the age of thirteen to the present has allowed her to be all she can be.  With a positive attitude, she has built a self- image to overcome the fear of failure.  Taking on high responsibility, developing discipline and the willing of wanting to be successful has become a reality.  Ms. Beckham believes placing happiness in your heart and remembering “We walk by faith and not by sight” —II Cor. 6:9, one can become a remarkable person.

Patti Beckham is currently the Sr. Vice President of Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance and is retired from Lone Star Land Bank an association of the Tenth Farm Credit District.  With a successful career she has been able to capture the power of relationships and their importance.  Ms. Beckham always asks each person to live each day to the fullest with fun filled stories and memories to not be forgotten.

A donation to a scholarship fund in memory of her father, Fred William Beckham will be made for each purchase. Ms. Beckham believes in educating young people for the future.
