Patient Traffic Soon to Offer Digital Medical Records Solutions

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 08, 2009 – To qualify for federal incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, health care organizations and physician practices are scrambling to implement digital medical records systems. Recognizing this, Patient Traffic will soon launch its web-based electronic medical records solution targeted to its network of around 800 members across all 50 states.

Electronic health records are aimed at increasing efficiency in health care organizations. They are also expected to streamline workflow and ultimately, improve the quality of patient care, by replacing paper-based transactions with digitized transactions.

Prior to deploying a web-based digital medical records solution, Patient Traffic is already providing a symphony of services to its member patients and physician practices. These include patient-client administration services, billing and payment services, appointment setting and follow-up services, diagnostics and laboratory testing, physician locator services, acquisition and retention services, and a cross-coverage telemedicine service. They also have a personal health records portal where member patients can access their health information and organize their records.

The migration to electronic health records and going completely paperless seem to be far off targets at the moment but web-based services such as Patient Traffic are already gearing up for the anticipated conversion.
