PROTO, hero of the first book in this series, is an intelligent, loveable Protoceratops who captivates the imagination of children of all ages. He draws their attention into reading a story full of difficult words and long sentences. In many ways he stimulates young readers' sponge-like brains to absorb new words, themes, concepts and ideas. Children understand that to become involved and interactive in the series, they must look up those big words to catch the true meaning of the story. This new type of literature has never been offered to children before. They can also become published authors themselves in the next issues.
Why is this author unique? Because at 79, having graduated from the school of life, she has had the privilege of meeting a great many different children who gave her ideas, who spoke of their dreams, their disappointments, their joys, their hardships, their failures, their success and their lives in general. She discovered many years ago that a child is an intellectual waiting to be discovered.
Beside being mother of four, grand-mother of 9 and having been involved with the young for a lifetime, this granny feels competent to speak up for the children who are being grossly neglected. Children's brain can absorb any info we can pour into them, yet we use small words and short sentences when we address them. We constantly let them be babysat by equipment made of silicon and copper when our own fleshy primate computer-brain would be so much more effective in helping them mature...if only we would spend more time reading to them or with them.
