At its annual Awards Breakfast on Thursday, November 5th the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce named Eneslow The Foot Comfort Center and its President and CEO Robert S. Schwartz, C.Ped. as Retailer of the Year for 2009. The award was presented to Mr. Schwartz by Larry Schwartz, C. Ped., the CEO of Aetrex Worldwide, Inc., which is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of pedorthic footwear.
Eneslow The Foot Comfort Center is a 100 year old, family-owned retail business with several locations in New York City. It provides high quality, stylish and comfortable footwear, as well as therapeutic accessories. Eneslow’s 1,000 square feet on-site factory provides shoe makeovers and repairs as well as custom made footwear and orthotics. The company was purchased by Schwartz’ father in 1968 and has grown into Eneslow Pedorthic Enterprises Inc. (212-477-2300)
At the ceremony Schwartz thanked his dedicated and highly skilled staff as well as his extended family adding, “My father’s legacy has proved to be his ability to create and build businesses that are not only about making money, but also about improving the quality of people’s lives from the foot up. Eneslow has always been about helping others, and I’m especially proud of the work we do.”
A recognized leader in the footwear and footcare industries, Schwartz is a published author on pedorthics and footwear in Industry-related publications;
Schwartz is also the Managing Director and on the board and executive committee of the 23rd Street Association, a New York City civic and trade organization. It includes the 23rd Street Community Projects a 501(c) 3 Foundation, with the theme of Waste Not, Want Not, which advocates on behalf of conservation and preservation.
