Numbers posted by the National Center for Health Statistics show that more than 34 percent of Americans are obese, compared to 32.7 percent who are overweight. Albert believes many people struggle to lose weight because they simply do not know what they should be eating.
According to Albert, he is astounded by the amount of people who honestly don’t know just how bad the foods they eat are for them. Albert says, “Many people were never educated, so we can’t blame them. We have to educate them now and put the decision making process in their hands. Making simple, painless changes in everyday routines can add up to a tremendous amount of calories saved at the end of each day, and each week.”
Albert lists 7 quick tips anyone can make to start shedding pounds immediately. That list includes:
1. Instead of cream and sugar in your coffee use milk and sweet n’ low
2. Instead of white bread and regular semolina pasta–choose whole wheat (every super market offers a wide selection of whole wheat pastas, breads, english muffins, hamburger buns, etc)
3. Try turkey meat or bison (buffalo) meat instead of regular beef (a lot of diners and chain restaurants now offer turkey burgers or buffalo burgers. Bison (buffalo) meat is practically a dead ringer for red meat

Many Americans try to lose weight by following fad diets or depriving themselves of certain food groups. According to Albert, that won’t work. “Sure you can lose weight on the Atkins diet, but you can’t forgo carbs forever, and you shouldn’t. Whole grain cars have great vitamins and nutrients. What happens is that when people start eating carbs again, they gain all the weight back. Fad diets don’t work, they are a short term solution. Education, simple modifications, and portion control are the keys to long term weight loss.”
