PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 08, 2009 -
iCollegeApps , a new start up in Whitewater, WI strives to be the link between Apple Inc.’s apps and classroom excellence.  This consumer reports website links the most popular and practical iPhone & iPod Touch applications and their effectiveness in the classroom.

Scott Perry, cofounder of iCollegeApps says, “We looked at what the people wanted and where they had to go to find it, and we noticed a rather sizeable gap.”  iCollegeApps has its advantage to anyone in a collegiate community, from professors to students to coaches.  By managing the most popular, practical and effective apps for this niche of people, iCollegeApps has been able to offer a recommendation and directory of apps most likely to be used by these collegiate individuals.  “There are 85,000 apps out there,” Perry says, “how can anyone expect to find the perfect app for their situation just by ‘googling’ it.  We try to make lives easier by narrowing the view to the college community, so that they may effectively use these tools.”

iCollege Apps was a website created by college students, for the college community.  The iCollegeApps idea was hatched in a Stategies to Entrepreneurial Marketing class at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and was launched in mid October 2009.  The easily recognizable website, iCollegeApps.com, offers many services including a section of consumer reports, a customers voted “app of the day,” and tutorial videos for those looking at how to effectively use their apps.  With twitter and facebook followings, iCollegeApps hopes to become the most recognizable consumer report site of iPhone & iPod Touch applications.
