DeLand, FL – Local DeLand artist Shannon Venturini opens an art school for children in Downtown DeLand.
Born and raised in DeLand, Venturini discovered her talent for drawing during the summer of 2008 while taking art classes with her mother. With her natural talent she progressed quickly as an artist. She won her first award this year at the Wildflower Festival, taking first place and becoming recognized by other local artists.
After realizing her talent, Venturini is hoping to help children find their talent and love of art sooner rather than later. The Little Artist is for children 4 to 12 years of age. The art school offers two types of art classes- Open Drawing and Dynamic Art, offering children a choice between drawing classes and project based classes.
“Art can help build confidence and can improve the way you perceive the world. I wanted to be able to share that with children,” said Shannon Venturini.
The first class will start December 1, 2009. Registration begins November 3, 2009. Stop by The Little Artist to register during the hours of 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday through Friday during the entire month of November or call 386-629-6929.
The art school is located in Downtown Deland. Stan Venturini from Venturini Development remodeled an old home in Downtown DeLand into the art school. The Little Artist is located at 316 N. Florida Avenue.
