Comark Corporation, a leader in the design and manufacture of life-safety rated computer and display solutions for the building automation market, announced today the availability of its UL864 9th Edition Recognized DuraMobile™ computer. The UL864 9th Edition specification is an NFPA requirement for equipment installed in life safety applications such as fire alarms, smoke control and mass notification. Testing was carried out by Underwriters Laboratories, in Northbrook, IL. The DuraMobile is also recognized under ULC-S527 as a control unit fire alarm system under Canadian standards.
UL864 9th Edition Fanless Computer
The DuraMobile is a compact, fanless computer, designed for high performance, low power processing, which is ideal for general-purpose life safety applications within the building automation market. The computer has no moving parts and is cooled using an aluminum heat sink instead of fans. Processor options include Intel® Celeron M®, Pentium® M, or Core™ 2 Duo, up to 2.2GHz, with up to 4GB of RAM, and support for 2 PCI expansion slots. Storage options include compact flash and solid-state drives in the same chassis, and the system is available with Linux, Windows XP Embedded or XP Pro.
