Walmart is getting a head start on the black friday sales with offering a HP Compaq CQ-139WM laptop computer. Many new business owners are rushing to get one of the 10 units per store. Is that a good idea?
Many would say "No" in fact absolutely not. The unit has an outdated Celeron Processor that is no longer being offered by HP as well as a processor and video card that does not support the Vista Aero. The unit is also preloaded with Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 which most would agree would not be a great move. We recommend that most business owners wait, save their money and purchase a unit with a dual core or Core2Duo process that will give them much better performance. We recommend the HP Compaq CQ50-215NR which has a 1.9GHz AMD Athlon X2 QL-60.
CNET provides information on the currently discontinued unit by HP Compaq:
