Empowering the Nation to Get Healthy, Seattle Radio Show Healthy You! Goes National on CBS Radio

SEATTLE, WA, Nov. 6, 2009  - Just fourteen weeks after debuting on Alternative Talk Radio 1150AM KKNW, the Healthy You! Radio show went national this week. The Seattle-based Healthy You! (www.healthyyouradio.com) show airs on the I’m Thankful™ Network (http://www.imthankful.com/radio/), and as of Wednesday, I’m Thankful has become part of CBS and CBS RADIO, broadcasting to several large, key markets throughout the country as well as over the internet via Yahoo! Music and AOL Radio.

Only three years after opening Fern Life Center, (www.fernlifecenter.com), an integrated medical clinic in Seattle, Washington, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), teacher, motivational speaker and radio talk show host, Keesha Ewers’ personal mission is reaching people across the country. Through her own journey with the “incurable” autoimmune disease rheumatoid arthritis, Keesha came to practice the style of medicine she now calls “functional medicine.”  “I know what it’s like to be completely unaware of how the foods I am eating and how the stress I am not dealing with can impact my body” states Ewers. It is through this lens of her personal journey that she so passionately conveys her message of health to others in person and on-air each week. Keesha’s vision for her health-oriented radio show, is the same as she has for her medical practice – facilitate positive growth and change by promoting life transformation through balance. Keesha’s message is one of education and integration. Her dynamic radio show is a platform to discuss the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda along with the best of Western and Naturopathic medical research by talking to the people doing the research. Her guests are on the forefront of their fields, whether it’s restoring health, finding balance or nurturing mind, body, and soul. Healthy You! Radio is a unique radio program that is a direct extension Keesha’s philosophy of empowerment. “I want to help people sift through all of the information that is available today so they can make choices for themselves and their families that lead to health in all areas of life; physical, emotional, mental, environmental, and spiritual, and to help them see that these areas can’t be separated” says Ewers. “My intention is to create a platform that offers information that will educate people. I want to empower you to heal you.”

Ewers’ radio show is one of empowerment through knowledge. “My goal with the program is to help people understand that they are unique and one-size of anything, including health care solutions, diets, exercise routines, will never fit all,” summarizes the host. On the air, Keesha interviews people who are doing the latest research in any arena that pertains to health and as she notes, “there is virtually nothing that doesn’t affect our health”. Ewers truly works magic with her down-to-earth outlook, dynamic, bubbly personality, uplifting words, contagious laugh and passion for helping others – a combination that has drawn countless listeners to tune in to get their informational and inspirational dose for the day. “I just get so fired up when I’m able to contribute to helping someone make a positive change in their life,” beams Ewers. “I just absolutely love it!” Keesha is also very relatable to her audience, because she is the mother of four children, a wife, a business owner, and is juggling many of the same career/family challenges as her listeners.
