SGI's designer Michael Satterfield has just returned from SEMA and unveiled a concept that is already in underway in the Southern California garage at SGI headquarters. SGI recently completed a Classic Ford F250 finished in the style of a modern King Ranch Superduty. The current car started life as a stock 1974 Fiat X1/9 and the team at SGI hope to turn it into a track monster by spring 2010. The car has been dubbed project Budget Elise and has the goal of building a car that can compete with a Lotus Elise for less than 10% of the cost. Visit www.satterfieldgroup.com for more info on the project. The car is also featured on www.thegentlemanracer.com, and will be used to promote SGI projects and companies.
