Birds Eye Global Tracking Introduces Affordable Personal GPS Tracking Device That Could Save Lives

Description: Birds Eye Global Tracking, LLC located in Clearwater, FL, introduces its initial product, a miniaturized electronic personal and asset GPS tracking device.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 06, 2009 – Clearwater, Florida, 11/6/2009- Birds Eye Global Tracking, LLC, has announced its initial product offering to the general public, a miniaturized electronic personal and asset tracking device which it’s founder believes, “this device will save hundreds of lives and  thousands of dollars for the State of Florida.”  The device, which is smaller and lighter than the average cell phone can locate a person suffering from Alzheimer’s or Dementia and a child with Autism anywhere in less than two minutes with amazing pin-point accuracy.

Each year hundreds of patients suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer’s wander away from home or their caretaker’s residence.  According to statistics from the Alzheimer’s Association, up to 60% of all Alzheimer’s patients will wander.  The report also goes on to state that 50% of those patients that are not found within 8 hours will suffer serious injury or death.  According to Birds Eye President and Founder, Jimmy Bitzas, “a miniature GPS tracking device could prevent harm or death for every special needs person who wears one”.

On October 8, 2008, Florida Governor Charlie Crist signed into law the State’s first “Silver Alert” system, which uses the state-wide Amber Alert missing child notification system, when an adult with Alzheimer’s or Dementia is lost.  “The State spends on average $6,500 with every Silver Alert, and there’s no guarantee that the victim will ever be found.”  According to Florida Department Law Enforcement (FDLE), the State agency that manages the Silver Alert program, and their spokesperson, Heather Smith; since last year 115 Silver Alerts were issued by the State of Florida and only 18 led to someone being recovered.  “The Birds Eye “Safe Tracker” device costs less than $350, and the person wearing it will be located in a very short period of time without ever having to go through the state-wide Silver Alert Program.  This will save the State of Florida thousands of dollars!” explains Bitzas.

The secret behind the tracking device’s astonishing accuracy is a combination of two 21st century location technologies: the GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) system used by the US military and vehicle navigation systems and cell phone tower position plotting.  Unlike the common vehicle navigation system, which must use line of sight from the satellites looking down at the vehicle, this new GRPS technology can now locate a subject inside a building and other structures. In a recent product test, the Birds Eye “Safe Tracker” device was able to pinpoint the location of a subject on the 30th floor of a high-rise office building, in downtown Tampa. Unlike a cell phone equipped with a GPS locator which loses its battery power in less than 5 hours, the Birds Eye unit can remain switched on, sending updates every two minutes, for up to 30 hours before needing a recharge

In addition to its amazing accuracy, the tracker’s movement can be monitored from any smart-phone or personal computer with access to the Birds Eye web site at www.tracklovedones.com .  The caretaker gets a push-pin plotting of the subject’s movements updated every two minutes, and using the available tracking software, can quickly draw a virtual “safety zone” for their loved one, on a map.  If the subject leaves the safety zone, an electronic alert is triggered sending a series of text messages to the caretaker’s cell phone and also sends emails every 60 seconds until the person is located and the alert is disabled.  “It’s like having an invisible sentry standing watch over your loved one, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Where ever you are, you have real peace of mind, because you’re never more than just a click away from them”, says Bitzas.

Birds Eye plans to introduce their initial personal tracking product in a series of 30-second commercials in the Tampa Bay area, to be televised during prime-time hours beginning November 5th, and running for the next 3 months.  Birds Eye Corporation has an office located in Clearwater, Florida, and its tracking devices have already received high praise from the State Government of Maine and is on the approved vendor list with the National Alzheimer’s Association.
