What does it mean to be in business for yourself? This is a good question especially in this economic climate.
So many times when you start out to fulfill your goals you leave out or just forget that there might be some pitfalls in your path. Pitfalls or setbacks are a part of your development. Many times we don't understand them nor do we see them. Pitfalls can come in a form of a good opportunity until the good opportunity turns into a bad nightmare. One of the things that I have learned in my short seventeen years as a entrepreneur is that everything that appears to be promising can sometimes have obstacles that are associated with it. So I have discovered that my obstacles are no more than an opportunity to overcome.
Entrepreneurs are often misunderstood at times. The role of the visionary is risky and the results can be overwhelming. Entrepreneurs don't make friends; they often have enemies because entrepreneurs are often misunderstood.
As a entrepreneur I have been misunderstood. I have been labeled everything you can imagine. When everything is going well I’m often never praised but when all hell breaks loose I'm always adored with hatred. The risk we take as an entrepreneur is never easy. I put my family and welfare always on the line for the sake of the venture, not knowing what the results will be.
Have I been perfect or a complete angel? NO!!! Have I done everything right or on time? NO!!! Have I made mistakes and blew it? YES!!! But I am grateful for the mercy and the grace that God has shown to me. If anyone tells you that they have done everything perfect, you need to take shelter. Your mistakes give way for God to create a miracle for you. This is what keeps me moving in spite of all of the negative comments or statements that come my way. I know that Gods grace is sufficient for me. In spite of all the lies and defeatist remarks, I can do all things through Christ that gives me the strength.
