B2B Espana meets the media

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 06, 2009 – The B2B Espana costa networking group held their Estepona chapter meeting yesterday with great support from the local media.

The meeting arranged by Marina & Simon Robertson of Del Sol Packaged was hailed a great success as members of the Costa del Sol media attended to meet and present to the members.   This rare opportunity was presented to a diverse group of businesses in order to emphasise the great importance of marketing and promotion in general.

The media team included representation from Talk Radio Europe, the Russian language MK & Linda publishing group, Marbella TV and thebestofMarbella.com.

Steve Gilmour of Talk Radio Europe, who hosts the Sports magazine show and The Tonight Show talked to the members about the potential of radio and the targeted way in which business can focus on its client using a carefully scripted voice over and the use of show sponsorship to capture the right listeners. Talk Radio Europe covers the Costa del Sol, Costa Brava and the Costa Blanca and has the highest listenership of any English language talk based station in Spain.

The Russian language MK & Linda publishing group highlighted the demographic of the Russian speaking population and commented on the 10,000 copy distribution of the Russian language weekly newspaper MK. The B2B members have had some experience of the Russian media in previous meetings arranged by Del Sol Packaged, however, Katerina Surgutanova, the editor of MK & Linda explained how targeted this media was to the Russian community as it is has the widest circulation and the biggest readership amongst the 100,000 Russian speaking residents in Spain.

Oti Garcia Diaz-Ambrona presented on behalf of the Marbella Town Hall and TV station and explained the type of shows broadcast by Marbella TV. Mrs Diaz-Ambrona highlighted the plans the TV station has post the digital switch over on 2010 and the new English Language programming schedule which will include local news, current affairs and magazines shows to bring a lot more information to the local community.

Syl Chad who kindly accepted a last minute invitation to present on behalf of “thebestofmarbella.com” talked to the group about the complexity that is inherent within marketing on the Internet. There are endless ways to market a business on the web through various promotional websites and blogs as well as such powerful Internet tools as Facebook, Linkedin and of course Twitter.  A perfect example of “thebestofmarbella.com”, which is a relatively new website, but powerful enough to have a record of as many as 1,000 hits a day from some 95 countries.  The examples are endless but the fact remains that Internet is the tool that allows you to reach your potential clients all over the world in a matter of hours and very often it would cost you absolutely nothing.
