(Boston)--Lee Ann Hoff, PhD has created the Life Crisis Institute, a not for profit institution that will provide education and research on the context, impact and treatment response to survivors of violence and abuse.
Dr. Hoff, who earned her doctorate at Boston University and has studied at the London School of Economics, is the author of several well regarded books that explore the topics of violence, stress and crisis including "Violence and Abuse Issues" (2009) and the award winning "People in Crisis: Cultural and Diversity Perspectives"
Dr. Hoff was a pioneer in the development of community mental health centers and specialized crisis services. She has extensive clinical, research and teaching experience in mental health, crisis and women's health.
Dr. Hoff is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences in anthropology, public health, women's health and nursing. She has conducted numerous continuing education courses and workshops nationally and internationally for health professionals, police officers and the general public.
