Dr. Kenneth Casey, Neurosurgeon - Clinician - Educator, is the Co-Chairman of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association Medical Advisory Board and co-author of "Striking Back, The Trigeminal Neuralgia and Face Pain Handbook". Dr. Casey has special interest in neurotrauma, trigeminal neuralgia and minimally invasive spinal procedures. Trained under the supervision of Dr. Peter Janetta, Dr. Casey has performed over 7,000 microvascular decompressions (MVD) for trigeminal neuralgia face pain.
Motor cortex stimulation is a treatment for trigeminal neuropathic pain to consider when all other procedures have failed. Electrodes are implanted and programmed so that pain can be controlled with a remote control.
