Nov. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- Once upon a time in a kingdom far away lived a king, his queen and their handsome son, Prince Christopher who was in no hurry to marry. This kingdom was also home to a cunning widowed mother of three young ladies; awkward Grace, sullen Joy, and a stepmother to a girl named Cinderella.
“Cinderella!” was the familiar bitter cry of this widowed stepmother as she punished Cinderella for the loss her husband, Cinderella’s father. Cinderella became the house maid for the stepmother and her stepsisters, kindly answering their every demand knowing that, “…the sweetest sounds I’ll ever hear are still inside my head. The kindest words I’ll ever know are waiting to be said…”
Then one day, in effort to find a bride for handsome Prince Christopher, the royal steward announced a royal ball. Every eligible maiden in the kingdom was ordered to attend and despite every effort made by her stepmother and stepsisters to keep Cinderella from the ball, she was destined to attend. Thanks to a few mice, a pumpkin and a Fairy Godmother, Cinderella attended the ball and she and the Prince fell in love. Unfortunately, Cinderella’s enchanted evening ended at the stroke of midnight, before the Prince learned her name. Will the Prince reunite with his true love? Will Cinderella spend the rest of her life a servant to her stepsisters? This beautiful tale unfolds under a beautiful score and will charm its way into your heart.
Ah, the timeless magic of this fairy tale is reborn for a new generation! As adapted for the stage by Tom Briggs from the 1997 teleplay by Robert L. Freedman starring Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as Fairy Godmother, this Enchanted Edition is features the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality and elegance and several new songs. Hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits!
