Broadcast Support, Inc. Helps The Commissioning of the USS New York

How One Los Angeles Based Production Company Is Bending The Rules and Soundwaves For A 9/11 Warship Tribute

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 05, 2009 – L.A. based production company, BROADCAST SUPPORT (BSI) has been asked to help produce the U.S. Navy’s biggest event of the decade – the commissioning of the military vessel, the USS New York on Saturday, November 7, 2009 in New York Harbor.

Because a landing platform ship of this size, brings with it logistical issues and the vulnerabilities of the open waters of New York Harbor  – there were only a small handful of companies nationally that could handle such a daunting task.  BROADCAST SUPPORT got the call and was asked to set-up a sound system that carried no wiring or cable.  Everything must be done via the airwaves, microwaves to be exact. And, it needs to go off flawlessly because event-goers will include Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Rudy Guiliani and other dignitaries.

Co-CEO owner Scott Ramsay, a production specialist with a background in broadcast and his partner Ron “Elvis” Stephan pride themselves on staying ahead of the technical game when it comes to what you can do with lighting and sound at live events. “Clients come up with visions for events that sometimes have no limits, and we like to take them and make reality out of those ideas,” stated Ramsay. Stephan adds, “Broadcast Support likes big challenges and solving problems for our clients.”

The USS New York is a new naval ship that will be unveiled to the public in New York harbor and then sent to  Norfolk, Virginia for duty.  This war vessel, which is a Landing Platform Dock (LPD) is a support ship that can get 1,000 marines to a global destination quickly.  It has been constructed with 7 tons of steel from the 9/11 World Trade Center and brings remembrance to those Americans that died at the hand of terrorism with the motto “Never Forget” on the crest of the vessel.

BROADCAST SUPPORT is a full-service production company with over twenty years experience in the industry.  BSI produce over 300 events per year and includes clients such as Microsoft, Red Bull and the Latin Grammy Award to name a few.

For more details and set-up an interview about the event or  BROADCAST SUPPORT, please contact publicist Vicky Gallion at (310) 613-0709 or vicky@thegallioncompany.com
