PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 05, 2009 -
Imagine not being able to hug your family, or hold a newspaper, or raise a glass. For the millions of Americans who suffer from stroke and other brain injuries, even the simplest tasks are impossible. To help stroke survivors regain their independence, Saginaw, Michigan native Kris Appel will unveil the Tailwind, a revolutionary new arm rehabilitation device, in her home state of Michigan.
Appel’s award-winning biotechnology company, Encore Path, will show local residents how the Tailwind can help stroke survivors regain use of their arms during demonstrations and an exhibit at Saginaw, Michigan’s Fashion Square Mall November 20 and 21, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The demonstrations, the first in the country, are free and open to the public.
The Tailwind, designed to be used at home or in a rehabilitation center, was developed at the University of Maryland Medical School. It has been scientifically proven to restore arm function. More information is available online at www.armrecovery.com.
