Nov. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- The closure of BT’s EDI*NET VAN service in February 2010 will significantly impact all EDI*NET customers. Data Interchange is therefore actively working with EDI*NET customers to minimise this impact. Data Interchange will manage their migration from EDI*NET to their own DINET VAN and guarantees to provide a cost effective solution for their businesses, now and in the future.

Ford will continue to use BT’s EDI*NET VAN until it is deactivated in early 2010. At this time, Ford will cease to use the X.400 protocol provided by the BT service and will require all their suppliers to connect to them, either directly or indirectly, using the OFTP protocol. For indirect connections, the DINET VAN is an obvious choice for suppliers, as for the last 10 years it has been the de facto service of choice for Ford themselves.
