AMLPA Announces Flat Rate Pricing for 12' and 16' Units

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 05, 2009 – Members of the American Moving Labor Professionals Association voted today to enact a flat rate pricing program for 16' and 12' units, sizes often associated with Portable on Demand Storage (PODS) and 1-800-PACK-RAT. The flat rate program initiated by AMLPA members is in response to the PODS / UniGroup deal recently announced.

As part of the flat rate pricing program, AMLPA members will provide services of loading and unloading for consumers who utilize a 12' or 16' unit at a more affordable rate than the UniGroup offering. Compare the AMLPA member offering of a 16' load at just $400 for most customers, a savings of $285 (or 41.6%) over the UniGroup flat price of $685.

The affordable options that AMLPA members voted to enact are far cheaper than the UniGroup rates, in the case of a 16' unload nearly 50% the cost of the conglomerates offering. The AMLPA is dedicated to assisting consumers who are seeking affordable options to their move. The new flat rate pricing, which is effective today, is a clear message to industry giants that the AMLPA will not sit idley by while consumers get a poor deal.
