PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 05, 2009 -
window.i – a new integrated system that enables retailers, local government and other information providers to deliver interactive information to consumers from behind glass – will be unveiled at the Digital Signage and Kioskcom Self Service Exhibition on 30th September at Olympia in London.

window.i puts information at the consumer’s fingertips by providing easy, self-service access to interactive information through shop or office windows, or from behind secure, easy-to-clean glass panels. Window.i is entirely modular, so information providers can either just use the touch panel and accompanying software, or choose a fully-integrated, customised system with bespoke navigation and branding. Window.i offers:
-   A choice of touch-sensitive, low-energy panels that work through a shop or office window or most other types of glass
-   Integral low-energy LED lighting, powered via a USB cable
-   Windows-compatible operating system for use on any standard PC
-   An easy-to-use content management system
-   Customisable branding, navigation and data feeds to suit the needs of different information providers
-   Optional ‘high-bright’ screens that are easy to view, even in strong sunlight

Richard Steele, Chief Technology Officer at PointandPress commented, “Window.i opens up new ways for information providers to deliver information to consumers ‘out of hours’. We have been providing a version of our touch-driven technology to estate agents for over three years, but the launch of Window.i now means that consumers can view and select the information information and provide data such as a phone number or email address - even when a shop or office is closed.”

Simon Court, Projects Director, added, “We are already working with a wide range of customers and partners in both the public and private sectors who see Window.i as an ideal, cost-effective way of sharing their content or information with their target audiences on a self-serve basis.  The system is also being used by third-party providers who are integrating our technology and operating system into their own products to deliver interactive self-service information services”.

About window.i
Window.i is a modular, bespoke interactive information service built around robust, energy-efficient touch-sensitive panels that work through most types of glass and which are resistant to moisture and sunlight.  The touch panels are extremely durable, as they have no moving parts to wear out or break, and can be installed easily, with configuration and power supplied via a USB cable to a standard PC running any contemporary Windows operating system.

Window.i can be tailored to suit an individual provider’s needs, with brandable panels, bespoke navigation and an intuitive content management system. Each Window.i button is a sensible 50mmx50mm, making them extremely easy to use.

PointandPress was founded in 2005 with a mission to use new interactive technologies to improve digital signage – particularly for businesses that market their goods and services through shop windows.  A market-specific version of the technology is already in use by numerous small to medium sized estate agents, which have discovered the benefits of enabling consumers to browse house details and request further information after the offices are closed.

PointandPress is a technology-based company with a firm understanding of business needs and provides a range of products and services. These include custom software built using the latest Microsoft technologies; product support before, during and after purchase; onsite training and supplying and installing ‘high-bright’ digital screens that can be viewed in even the brightest sunlight.
