Started 21 years ago by local Scientologist and world-class athlete Sandra Johnson, the Say No To Drugs Holiday Classic has become one of the premier races in Tampa Bay, and continues to draw rave reviews from its runners such as: It is one of the best organized events. Proceeds from the race go to local Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts, Youth Triathlon Series, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Youth for a Drug Free Florida and many other deserving organizations.

Sandra Johnson's inspiration comes from Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard who developed a program to remove the effects of drugs and toxins and who once wrote: "We live in a chemical oriented society. One would be hard put to find someone in the present-day civilization who is not affected by this fact. I have even found that there is such a thing as the 'drug personality.'"
