Costa Rica Referrals was an idea that came out of necessity. The people behind this service have dedicated their lives to those who cannot always fend for themselves. The goal of the company is to address the problem of the estimated 1 million street dogs found here in Costa Rica. By simply using this free service, you save time and money, but most importantly you help us to continue working towards our goals of an Animal Sanctuary in Costa Rica.
It's not all about real estate consulting here at CR Referrals. Tourism Referrals are a big part of what we do. Almost every business in Costa Rica offers a Referral / Commission in their companies business model. In many cases Referrals may account for up to 60% or more of any given companies business (especially the tourism sector & real estate). You as the client are paying this cost with or without a referral. It is already included in the price. Why not put some of that money back in your pocket? We ask anywhere from 10 - 20% commission from our hotel affiliates. Of this 10% will be discounted back to you, the client . The remainder of the commission helps local area causes and Project Sanctuary - Costa Rica. Tour referrals, being much less expensive than hotel rates, do not offer nearly as much of a commission. Depending on the nature of the tour, we will give you a discount, but it varies considerably. Example: On a fishing tour we may be able to save you up to $100 or more, in contrast, a canopy tour, depending on the provider, might only pay a $10 commission. In most cases for smaller tours like this, we are unable to offer any discount, but the small commission does still go to a good cause.
Real Estate consulting is our main source of revenue, but at the same time any discount we could give you would be small in the big scheme of things. Example: You the client, buy a house for 100k. A 5% commission goes to the Real Estate agent handling the deal, equaling 5k. Of that 5k C.R. Referrals gets 25% equaling $1250. Now if we than give 50% of that back to you totaling $625 that is a pretty small amount to the client who just spent 100k on a house. It however makes all the difference in the world for the work we are trying to do here.
