The U.S company Interorbital Systems from Mojave, CA are going to take a big chunk of out southern tip, to launch rockets and take people into space.
This part of our Island is special to us and hold Myths and legends of the demi- god Maui, we call it Lakufa’anga. To read about these legends please look at http://www.eua-island-tonga.com/Lakufaanga.html .
We only got to hear about this plan by chance as the government and King have kept it quite from the people. The Interorbital Systems people were saying at the Hideaway a resort on ‘Eua Island and this is how we got to know about their plans.
They are going to fences off this part of the Island and blast rockets into space and most likly destroy the natural environment which has rain forest and the red shining parrot which only lives on this Island. There is also wild horses that live there, he rock gardens and its the site that Maui made a big hole through the Island in the old stories see eua-island-tonga.com/LiangaHuoAMaui.html for more on that story
We are powerless to stop this from happening.
