Beginning Tuesday, December 1st, Blackstone's of Beacon Hill (46 Charles St.) will launch its fourth annual 12-Days of Christmas Celebration that will once again feature the “Build a Basket of Cheer Program” fulfilling their continued mission to give back to the local community. Customers, vendors, neighbors and friends will participate in a united effort to support two local organizations – Beacon Hill Civic Association, which is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the residential quality of life in our neighborhood, and the Beacon House, a Rogerson Community that subsidizes housing for elders and people with disabilities. The campaign will showcase two exciting events – Wednesday, December 2nd from 3:30 to 7:00pm local PBS documentary film producer and author, Lorie Conway and Saturday, December 5th from 3:00 to 7:00pm folk artist and children’s book illustrator/
“Our ‘Build a Basket of Cheer Program’ was designed to bring together as many people in our neighborhood all focused on a common goal – to improve life in our community,” says Jennifer Hill, co-owner of Blackstone’s. Over 20 valued vendors of Blackstone’s have donated many of their fine products. Each item will have a suggested price that when purchased by a customer will become a gift to be placed in the front window under a Christmas tree and later donated to the Beacon House. The money raised by the purchase of the donated items will be given to support the Beacon Hill Civic Association’

Blackstone’s will once again be a part of the wildly popular Beacon Hill Holiday Stroll, one of the most anticipated holiday celebrations of them all. For one glorious evening, Charles Street on Beacon Hill is closed down allowing friends, families and neighbors to roam from store to store enjoying holiday cheer while completing their last minute Christmas lists. Stores stay open until 9:00pm serving refreshments while all around there are activities aplenty including horse and carriage rides, roving Victorian carolers and even an appearance by Santa Claus himself.
All-in-all, a great way to spend the holiday season at Blackstone's of Beacon Hill and amongst the many fine shops in historic Beacon Hill. "It cannot be said often enough how much we appreciate our valued customers and generous vendors who believe along with us, that the season of giving does not begin or end with Christmas, but is a continuum throughout the year, and that if the common good can become a common goal then by working together we can do much for our community, "says co-owner Mark Duffield.
