Creative Smiles Provides Teeth Restoration Using CEREC Technology

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 04, 2009 – The Columbia, SC, dental office utilizes the latest technology of Ceramic Reconstruction (CEREC) to simplify teeth restoration for patients.

CEREC uses computer-assisted design and manufacturing to design and shape the teeth in need of restoration in-house. In the past, dentists had to send teeth impressions away to a laboratory and then wait for the results. This new technology means Creative Smiles patients in need of teeth restoration can receive the care they need immediately.

The CEREC teeth restoration process involves a special camera used to capture an optical impression of the tooth. The computer then creates the restoration from a block of ceramic material, and the dentist bonds the ceramic restoration to the tooth.

According to Dr. Paul A. Feuerstein of Creative Smiles, the CEREC teeth restoration is natural-looking, safe and allows dentists to save more of the healthy tooth than other restoration procedures.

Dr. Paul A. Feuerstein opened his dental office in Columbia in 1973. He attended Harpur College in Binghamton NY and received his D.D.S. degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1968. Dr. Kyle M. Garlitz grew up in Hickory NC. After Dr. Garlitz graduated from Hickory High School, he graduated in 1992, from Notre Dame with a BS in Pre- Professional Studies. He attended dental school in North Carolina at UNC -Chapel Hill and graduated in 1996.
