Richard Alan Famer Shares with us his time visiting Florida, a fond memory being that of the everglades.
“When in Florida there are so many things tourists need to experience. Something you wouldn’t want to miss is definitely the everglades.” Mr. Farmer exclaims.
The Everglades is home to a variety of plants and animals that have adapted to the subtropical environment.
Some creatures that Richard Alan has seen include such as the Florida panther, wood stork and West Indian manatee. It is said that all these animals have become symbols of a struggling ecosystem of America.
While some of its flora and fauna are widely recognized, the Everglades also is comprised of hundreds and maybe even thousands of plants that are not widely known plants. From above, Richard Farmer explains how the Animals and fish that are part of a living, dynamic ecosystem make much of the view.

One factor that brings Richard Alan Farmer to these wetlands is the mammals that inhabit it.

“While visiting the everglades, I make it a goal of mine to see more animals than when I was last there.  In order to fully embrace the beauty you have to take time and venture out of your comfort zone.” Richard Alan explains.

Birds are a special symbol of the Everglades. Richard Alan Farmer has great love for flight, so it’s no wonder that birds are a favorite animal of his.

It is reported that in the 1800s there were so many migratory and wading birds that the skies were darkened. Sadly, the migration of the bird population has been reduced by hunters and more recently by the loss of habitat. Despite these factors, today some 350 bird species have been identified in Everglades National Park alone.

Birds aren’t the only animals that can be seen here. Richard Allan talks about his previous experience seeing a Florida Panther,” I was walking along a trail when a fellow tourist pointed out a panther about 500 meters away. It sure was a sight I can tell you that as well as the rest of the everglades.”
