To achieve CCNA, one need to pass both CCENT (also known as CCNA ICND1), and the CCNA ICND2 exams. The single exam path is recommended for candidates who have sufficient experience in networking. Cisco certification is generally valid for 3 years, and candidates are expected to renew certifications by taking renewal exam. CCNA is the foundation certification for taking CCDA, CCNP and other professional level exams.
