Sanford, ME, October 2009: For over 70 years, Wasco has been illuminating dark interiors with natural lighting solutions and their proprietary Horizon Translucent Daylighting Systems is no exception. This easy-to-install, translucent skylight system provides high quality diffused daylight while providing protection from the elements. The standing seam, dry glazed canopy is made from lightweight polycarbonate. The panels themselves are protected from UV and will not deteriorate or yellow with age.
About Horizon Translucent Daylighting Systems
Wasco's cellular design allows the Horizon skylight system to be used in a variety of ways. The canopy is constructed with panels that have snap-on battens and structural clips that make assembly a breeze. This ease of assembly also spells reduced labor and material costs for constructing a skylight or canopy in the construction of new buildings, as well as in renovating an existing building. To further increase the number of construction applications of the Horizon Translucent Daylighting System, structural framing is optional.
The panels are 20mm thick and are made up of 6-wall polycarbonate glazing. They are available in a range of three finishes: standard clear translucent, opal tinted and bronze tinted. Other tints are available on order.
About Nanogel Thermal Efficiency
Nanogel technology is also used to give these panels up to six times the thermal efficiency of an ordinary panel. Nanogel fill panels can also qualify architects for 2 – 4 LEED certification points for optimizing energy efficiency in their designs using Wasco's new Nanogel insulated skylights.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.
