Chaitanya 2009, an inter-collegiate management fest was held on 24th October, 2009 at the campus of Vivekanand Institute of Management Studies and Research, Chembur. The theme of the event was “Go Global”, with its mascot as the globe featuring the flags of all the countries. The fest began on an auspicious note of lamp lighting by the institute’s Director, Prof. Mr. Hemant Joshi accompanied by MMS course coordinator Prof. Mrs. Harshada Mulay and Prof. Mr. Sandeep Bharadawaj, Event Organiser, Chaitanya being known for its management events like Case Study, Business Quiz, Press Conference, etc. this year added another feather to its hat by introducing non-management events viz. Sports, Maniac games, Reality Show, etc. As the theme says the ‘Go Global’, the events were themed based on different countries like, U.S.A., South Africa, France, Egypt, etc. and the set-up was given in view of that. Eminent judges from different streams were evaluated the performances of the participants and gave fair and unbiased results. “It was great to see Management going physical in terms of sports, etc” said Nilesh Talreja from FCB Ulka, one of the judges of Ad-Mad Show. The entire event was sponsored by Union Bank of India being the main sponsor, Spykar, Kingfisher, etc. The planning of the fest started 2-3 months back and the across 50 management colleges in Mumbai, were invited to be the part of the grandeur. Largely, Chaitanya ’09 was a huge success with the proper blend of participants’
