Nanhi Kali Foundation, for the uninitiated, aims to offer primary education to underprivileged girl children in India. Smile Train, on the other hand, is a leading cleft charity involved in providing free cleft surgery to poor children.
"God has given me plenty of reasons to smile and I feel it's time to spread it around. Lot of children desperately need help, but can't receive timely care since their families cannot afford this surgery or are uneducated,"
Freida, on her part, has been chosen because of her global appeal and an inspiring story behind her success. Reportedly, the foundation officials feel that Freida, with her appeal in the West, will bring in Hollywood celebs too.
