Based on the official sketch that was released last week, the computer image reveals the real-world look of America's Volkswagen Passat replacement. While the image is still kind of generic, it seems to accurately predict the styling direction for the new sedan.
The sedan is expected to be priced in the low $20,000 range, which puts it in a more competitive segment than the Volkswagen Passat, which is $26,995. This means that Volkswagen is ready to directly compete with leaders such as the $19,395 Toyota Camry and $21,055 Honda Accord.
Set to be built in Chattanooga, Tennessee in late 2011, Volkswagen is planning to sell at least 100,000 mid-size sedans a year in the US.
