Attorney Alan M. Feldman Presented Product Liability Law CLE for PA Association for Justice

Feldman, Esq., co-managing partner of Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner, Weinstock & Dodig, presented “The Status of Product Liability Law in Pennsylvania post-Berrier” for the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Mark LeWinter, William Ricci, Clifford Rieders and Shanin Specter joined Alan Feldman, the course planner, on October 27, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Top of the Tower on Arch Street in Philadelphia. The three-credit CLE explored the history of product liability law in Pennsylvania, seminal decisions from the state and federal courts, the impact of the current state of Pennsylvania product liability law on plaintiffs and defendants and the future of Pennsylvania’s approach to product liability law.

“We are at an important juncture in the development of product liability law in Pennsylvania,” said Feldman, who noted that “recent conflicting decisions make it difficult for lawyers to know what the law is so they can properly advise their clients. Our intention was to present a first-rate and comprehensive seminar on the subject featuring some of the finest product liability specialists in the Commonwealth.”

Feldman, a trial lawyer for more than 30 years, regularly serves as faculty in programs devoted to the development of trial advocacy skills, personal injury litigation and continuing legal education locally and nationally. His diverse practice includes auto defect (crashworthiness) cases, medical malpractice litigation, class actions on behalf of consumers and other significant civil matters. Feldman has been named a Top 100 Super Lawyer in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, and a Pennsylvania Product Liability Super Lawyer. He served as Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and its 13,000 members in 2006 and is a past President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. Recent successes include a $10 million settlement in an airbag non-deployment case, a verdict of more than $4 million for an infant killed in a trucking accident, and $6 million and $5.6 million verdicts in separate class action cases against a major automobile manufacturer.
