Long Beach, CA –YOUTHanasia Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana has been providing alternative mental health programs to teen hurricane survivors since 2005. The foundation has been fighting to cure teen violence since 1997. The organization leads the campaign to raise awareness about the increase in post-Katrina teen violence as it relates to the lack of mental health care being provided to teen storm survivors. Recently, funding for YOUTHanasia Foundation has been dwindling due to the country’s sudden economic downturn. N 2 GREEK and Carnival Cruise lines have partnered to host a fundraiser voyage “Greek Unity Cruise 2010” to help the foundation continue its service to Greater New Orleans teen hurricane survivors. The cruise sets sail June 25-28, 2010.
N 2 GREEK is owned and operated by 25-year-old Michelle Refuge of Inglewood, California. Michelle has personal ties to New Orleans and heartfelt reasons why she is involved in the recovery of Greater New Orleans. According to Ms. Refuge, “My family is from New Orleans and I spent half of my formative years there. So, when I had to watch my city be destroyed with such a feeling of helplessness, I knew I would have to find a way to make a difference. The GREEK UNITY CRUISE is that difference.”
The “Greek Unity Cruise” will sail from the Port of Long Beach to Baja, Mexico from Friday, June 25, 2010 to Monday, June 28, 2010. The cost ranges from $386 - $506 depending on customer choice of cabin and cabinmate(s)
