Awkward Spelling EP x Jonnygo Figure on 11/10/2009

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 03, 2009 – Awkward Spelling EP seeks to showcase the creative and musical ingenuity of singer, songwriter and producer JonnyGO Figure. Consisting of (8) original songs all inspired from JonnyGO, he hashes a “groovy” sound, coupled with melodic dub inspired hooks and R&B harmonies. AS-EP runs the gambit of musical genres; at one moment you may feel as if the artist has taken you on a journey to UK on the scene of 1980’s British dub/ska with songs like Brooklyn Bloke and Ms. Photog. There are other moments when you feel as if you are in the heart of modern day Flatbush, Brooklyn with tracks like Drinks and Island Boy. Jamba Juice may provide the scene stealing moment of the album, as JonnyGO pens a narrative-based track about a chance encounter with a past love.

Featured Artists: North Jersey hottest Indie/Pop band Future Future co-produced and features on the punk/rock “DD//NB”. Meanwhile, fellow Brooklyn native and hip-hop artist Poe Picasso delivers on “Ms. Photog”. Finally, VA to NY based rapper and Frontside member, Mikealis rounds out the triplicate of features on the bonus gem “Barracuda”.
