"Bug Solution Duo"
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Nov 03, 2009 – Cumming, GA - Mattress Safe® Inc. introduces an innovative “Duo” Mattress Protector Solution for pest control professionals and consumers dealing with bed bug infestation. The newly introduced “Bug Solution Duo™” combines the strength and protection of the “Superior” Total Mattress Encasement with a “Simplistic” Overlay that can be easily removed for washing and maintenance.
The “Bug Solution Duo™” includes the “Superior” Total Mattress Encasement plus a removable “Simplistic” Overlay. The “Superior” Total Mattress Encasement provides Bed Bug Certification, stretches to fit up to 18" deep mattresses, is waterproof and fire retardant, and protects against dust mites. The “Simplistic” Overlay addition provides easy removal for washing, protects “Superior” Mattress Encasement from stains, allows customer the option to flip their mattress, and provides an extra layer of comfort during the 12-18 month quarantine period.
President Will Poston found that consumers who are advised to leave their infested mattresses encased for a “quarantine period” of 12 - 18 months are uncomfortable with a stand-alone encasement that cannot be removed for laundering and does not allow for routine maintenance. "The added benefits of our Bug Solution Duo™ include easy maintenance and cleanliness control, while completely protecting the consumer from any bed bugs which may remain encased during the quarantine period," Mr. Poston remarked.
Mattress Safe® has achieved accreditation as a Pest Control Management Product. A “Bite Test” and a “Penetration and Escape Test” were performed on Mattress Safe’s® “Ultimate” zippered encasement by a certified entomologist to determine whether or not bed bugs can actively feed through the fabric of the encasement and to discover whether or not the mattress encasement can be used as part of a bed bug exclusion or inclusion process.
The conclusions of these tests were that bed bugs can not bite through nor penetrate through the fabric or design of the encasement, thus proving Mattress Safe’s® ability to prevent the infestation of bed bugs in mattresses and box springs.
Hotels with rooms that become infested by bed bugs often need to discard mattresses and box springs due to the damage caused by blood stains and fecal matter. The incorporation of Mattress
Safe’s® mattress and box spring encasements proves to be a cost effective method for preventing damage caused by bed bugs and minimize their available harborage spaces.
