Duncanville Ideal Location for New Pollo Campero, First Location in D/FW area’s southern reaches

During a time that most business are struggling, Latin American restaurant chain Pollo Campero is making a commitment to the growth of Duncanville, Texas by opening its first store in the area and creating 25 new jobs for the community.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 03, 2009 – Pollo Campero, the world’s largest Latin chicken restaurant chain, has brought its signature “Flavor You Can’t Campero” to Duncanville with the opening of a restaurant at 804 S. Cockrell Hill Road. This will be the sixth Pollo Campero restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, but the first location in the southern sector of the Metroplex.

The 2,900 square-foot Duncanville store is the first Pollo Campero owned by franchisee Umar Ibrahim, whose company Ibrahim Investments operates 17 successful quick-service restaurants in the D/FW Metroplex. Pollo Campero will be the third Duncanville restaurant for Ibrahim Investments which is headquartered in the city and has approximately 400 employees. The store has created 25 new jobs.

“Duncanville offers a vibrant, growing community where businesses like ours can thrive, which is why I continue to invest in the city,” said Umar Ibrahim, president of Ibrahim Investments. “I’m confident that Duncanville residents will become instant fans of Pollo Campero once they’ve tried our world-famous Latin chicken and one-of-a-kind side items.”

Unlike most fast-food chains, Pollo Campero’s chicken is marinated, sending the distinctive Pollo Campero flavor all the way to the bone. Fried chicken is hand-breaded in seasoned flour and slowly pressure-cooked without trans-fats, resulting in a flavorful and juicy meal.  Grilled chicken features the taste of lime and orange juices, red bell peppers, and a proprietary blend of Latin herbs and spices.

Side dishes include a mix of Latin and traditional American dishes, including Campero beans, Campero rice, black beans and white rice, yuca fries, sweet plantains, Cole slaw, French fries and mashed potatoes. Customers can choose from soft drinks, iced tea or specialty Latin drinks like horchata and tamarindo.

Through the end of the year, the Duncanville restaurant will celebrate its opening with two special promotions:
-   10 pieces of chicken for $7.99
-   2 pieces of chicken for 99 cents, with purchase of a drink

“With the opening of the Duncanville location, we’re excited to increase our footprint in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” said Roberto Denegri, president and COO for Campero USA. “The new location gives us the chance to win more customers south of Interstate 20.”

In 1971, Pollo Campero was founded in Guatemala as a small roadside restaurant with a focus on flavor. The family-owned operation quickly grew into a Latin American treasure. Visitors to Guatemala were even known to load their carry-on luggage with Pollo Campero chicken for their return flights home. In 2002, Pollo Campero launched its first restaurant in the United States. When stores have opened in new markets across the U.S., Pollo Campero fans have lined up for hours to experience their first taste of Latin chicken on U.S. soil.

“I learned about Pollo Campero in 2002, when the company opened its first U.S. restaurant in Los Angeles and customers were lined up around the block,” Ibrahim said. “The more I found out about the company and its franchise opportunities, the more interested I became. Plus, I fell in love with Pollo Campero’s unique Latin flavors.”
