FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Nov 03, 2009 – Pilot Mountain, NC., Nov.2 /-- The United States Air Forces Central, commonly known as AFCENT, have chosen the Avlite AV70 solar powered LED taxiway and obstruction lights for installation at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.  Aviation Renewables, a strategic partner of Avlite Systems and the industry leader in providing renewable airfield lighting and power solutions, worked closely with local representatives while meeting the operating needs of AFCENT's strategic air base.  AFCENT required 150 solar taxiway and obstruction lights that would stand up to temperatures which exceed 60 degrees Celsius, persistent sand blasting, physical impact and if needed, easy battery replacement.  The AV70 was chosen as the industry's most qualified solar LED taxiway and obstruction light capable of operating in hot, demanding conditions with a custom aviation lens and 3 year 100% product warranty.

The AV70 series is the base model of US ARMY and Air Force portable airfield lighting systems used for global combat and CONUS operations.  By providing unlimited years of operation with the industry's most complete technology offering from Aviation Renewables and Avlite Systems,  Al Udeid will benefit from a rugged, maintenance free lighting solution that will surpass previous installed systems.  Al Udeid Air Base is a military base west of Doha, Qatar. It is host to a forward headquarters of United States Central Command, and home to No. 83 Expeditionary Air Group RAF and the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing of the USAF.
