PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 03, 2009 – Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojna (RGMVP) for Poverty Reduction and Women’s Empowerment is the flagship poverty alleviation initiative of the RGCT. RGMVP reaches out to women of Uttar Pradesh to bring them hope for a better future.

Over the last couple of decades, the SHG institutional model has emerged as an important tool in bringing about significant changes in the lives of the poor by providing a range of microfinance services, organising the unorganised and building social capital. The model addresses several socio-economic aspects such as arresting leakages in household cash flows, increasing income, enhancing asset status, building self-esteem and confidence of women, improving leadership qualities, etc.
