Peanut Butter Bark was an instant favorite, considering the popularity of both chocolate and peanut butter. The Smooth variety is made of rich, smooth semi-sweet chocolate combined with creamy peanut butter, and then mixed with more chocolate. The Crunchy variety is then topped with granulated peanuts. In addition to being kosher pareve, Peanut Butter Bark is casein free and lactose free.
Vianna DiGristina, KosherFest’s Marketing Coordinator, says “This is an award of distinction in the kosher industry, particularly in light of the fact that there are so many new, quality kosher food products in this ever-expanding market.”
Beyond the honor of being a leader in the category and in the industry, this award entitles Illinois Nut & Candy to industry honors including editorial inclusion in the Kosher Today e-newsletter and web site www.koshertoday.com, inclusion in editorial sent to industry trade publications and mainstream media, an engraved award, use of the official winner’s seal and more.
Owner David Levine of Skokie, IL based Illinois Nut & Candy says, “We’re honored to accept this award on behalf of our customers. It’s one more way to embrace our society of inclusiveness, where people who choose a particular dietary lifestyle (in this case, kosher, but vegan, organic, sugar free, lactose free and food dye free are other examples) are able to enjoy the treats alongside mainstream society.
