This is a fine antique sterling silver tureen made in the town of Sheffield in 1899. Of oval form with ring handle with a large beaded edge. The body of the tureen and the cover is totally hand engraved with scroll and leaf design. The cover also engraved with 4 snake like winged griffins. Engraved with the original coat of arms. Fluted handles with acanthus leaf decoration. Condition is excellent. Engraving very crisp with no wear. Fully hallmarked on side of tureen. Maker mark H.A . Weight 73 troy ounces.
