Raleigh, North Carolina - As the only grassroots political movement recognized by various media outlets throughout the country to appeal to mainstream voters of all political stripes, the Modern Whig movement has taken another step in its national efforts to compete with the other two parties with the reconstitution of the Whig National Committee. The first public act of the WNC is to announce that two more viable, common sense advocates have filed to run for Congress under the revived Whig Party banner.
The latest federal Whig candidates to announce their official candidacy, in conjunction with the Florida Whig Party, include John Annarumma of Gainesville, FL and Clayton Schock of Broward County, FL. Paul McKain's Congressional campaign already is making waves in his district, as is our state candidate, Gene Baldassari, who is running for the New Jersey Assembly.
In North Carolina, the Modern Whig Party is just getting started. North Carolina Chairman, Nicholas Hensley, is looking for concerned citizens to create an Executive Committee for the North Carolina Modern Whig Party, and then register the party with the state. If you are interested in joining this grassroots restoration of the Whig party, you can contact Mr. Hensley at northcarolina@
