Media Alert:Industry Visionaries Issue SOA Manifesto at 2nd International SOA Symposium in Rotterdam

Media Alert: Industry Visionaries Issue SOA Manifesto at 2nd International SOA Symposium in Rotterdam

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 02, 2009 – PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - October 23, 2009) - The SOA Manifesto will be presented today at the 2nd International SOA Symposium in Rotterdam. TIBCO's (NASDAQ: TIBX) Paul Brown and a collection of industry leaders have created The SOA Manifesto, to provide solid and experienced guidance to aid enterprises in achieving the full potential value from their SOA initiatives. The Manifesto articulates the ambition of SOA itself, provides value statements to guide difficult decisions, and enumerates the core principles upon which SOA is based.

Despite the fact that SOA has been around for at least a decade in one form or another, there is a surprising amount of confusion about what SOA is and how enterprises can benefit from it. In particular, SOA is often viewed as purely a technical issue when, in fact, its purpose is to improve the enterprise's ability to achieve its business goals and is the foundational path to Cloud computing. The Manifesto was created to bring clarity and understanding to this situation, to distill the essence of the SOA concept and its role in facilitating the enterprise's pursuit of its business goals as a means of bringing clarity to what is, today, an often muddy situation.

The members of the team developing the manifesto collaborated closely in developing the Manifesto. Despite the diversity of backgrounds, there was a refreshing unanimity in identifying the ambitions, values, and principles of SOA. The team worked hard to develop wording to concisely capture the essence of the points, with pretty much all participants contributing in equal measure.

Paul Brown shares his experience and deeper insights into the SOA Manifesto in his blog, visit: http://blog.total-architecture.com/.

The TIBCO Community will be hosting discussions around the release of the SOA Manifesto and its implications visit http://www.tibcommunity.com to learn more.
