Dawna Lee Heising of EOE on Time Warner Cable Attends Thalians Event Honorng Mickey Rooney

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 02, 2009 – Dawna Lee Heising and John Alsedek of “Eye on Entertainment” (EOE) were in attendance on Sunday, November 1st  as The 54th Annual Thalians Ball honored legendary film, stage, and TV star Mickey Rooney and the USO Shows supporting America's Armed Forces around the world.  Thalians founders, actresses Debbie Reynolds and Ruta Lee, hosted the evening at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Rooney received the Mr. Wonderful Award and a gold statuette, The Goofy, designed by Walt Disney himself for the Thalians in the 1950's.

Many of Mickey Rooney's leading ladies from MGM and other studios performed and attended this year. Those performing included Debbie Reynolds, Ruta Lee, Shirley Jones, Nancy Sinatra, Connie Stevens, Mitzi Gaynor, Ann Blyth and comedian-ventriloquist Terry Fator, winner of "America's Got Talent 2007" and headlining for 10 years at the Mirage in Las Vegas in "Terry Fator and His Cast of Thousands." Simon Cowell called Fator "one of the best entertainers in the world".

Bruce Vilanch wrote the script for the show, which included a special appearance by the Golddiggers, who are on national tour singing and dancing up a storm as they did on ‘The Dean Martin Show’ and in USO shows around the world.  Many stars who attended included Lou and Carla Ferrigno, Dick Van Patten, Alex Trebek, Gloria Allred, Barbi Benton, Betty Garrett,  Norm Crosby, Joan Van Ark, Ron Masak, Stella Stevens, Ann Rutherford, Marty Ingels, Terry Moore, Barbara Luna, Jack LaLanne, Elke Sommer, George Pennachio, Cybil Shepherd,  Gary Collins, Mary Ann Mobley, Richard Anderson, Garry Marshall and uniformed members of the U.S Armed Forces.
