“Launch day was very exciting,” says Patsy. “I didn’t know what to expect but, within a week, I’d met so many people - and received such a warm and supportive welcome - that I felt confident the business would be a success.”
Even though Patsy has spent more than 20 years working in the property industry in order to prepare herself for a career in property management, she undertook months of research into the lettings market, Bury St Edmunds’s economy and housing needs and produced detailed business plans – plus, she attended weeks of intensive training with Belvoir at their Central Office in Grantham.

Patsy has already employed one full-time permanent staff member and is planning to take on more employees as the business grows in order to maintain excellent levels of service.
So, six weeks in, how does Patsy feel now?
“I’m loving it, absolutely loving it,” she says. “I’m thoroughly enjoying working for myself and running my own business in the lettings industry. I’m really pleased I did it – I haven’t looked back for a second.”
