The camera contains an 18 Mega Pixel APS-C CMOS sensor which was developed by Canon and the EOS 7D also features dual Digic 4 processors to offer fast, high quality performance in all light conditions. This provides outstanding colour reproduction and delivers 14 bit processing, excellent noise reduction, long battery life, Face Detection Auto Focus and Full HD movie recording.
This is Canon’s first SLR camera which lets you record full HD movies with full manual control of shutter speed and apertures. Auto Focus can be started by half pressing the shutter button. With the EOS 7D users can now select video frame rates from 30, 25 and 24 frames per second – with 25 frames per second being the standard for televisions in the U.K.
For photographers there are many features which will enhance the photographic experience. The EOS 7D features a 19 point cross-type AF sensor enabling photographers to achieve accurate shots and optimize composition options. The EOS 7D also includes the ability to control multiple Speedlites without an external Speedlite Controller.
The large 3” Clear View II LCD screen features 920,000 dot resolution, a wide viewing angle and a new solid structure for improved image viewing in bright conditions.
The whole EOS 7D is provided in a magnesium alloy body which offers weather sealing equivalent to the acclaimed EOS-1N, EOS Integrated cleaning system and 150,000 release shutter durability.
