Pool Safety Doesn't Stop at End of Summer: Pool Safety Remains Issue in Wintertime

Pool safety remains a year-round issue for pets, children, and the elderly. As colder temperatures prompt many homeowners to mothball their pools for the winter, it’s vital to continue to address pool safety concerns.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Nov 02, 2009 – Van Nuys, CA -- Pool safety remains an issue year-round for pets, children, and the elderly. As colder temperatures prompt many homeowners to mothball their pools for the winter, it's vital to continue to address pool safety concerns. In regions where outdoor recreational swimming is a year-round activity, pool construction is frequently being done during the off-season. Winter can therefore present different challenges to maintaining pool safety.

Among the leaders in providing architectural solutions for year-round pool safety is Guardian Pool Fence, Inc. of Van Nuys, California. According to Steve Sadinsky, President of the company, "Children are injured or even die each year when backyard pools are not protected. Pool safety should be a primary parental concern when they are planning the installation of a recreational pool. Adding 'barrier protection' such as a pool fence has been proven to be the most reliable type of pool safety for toddlers and young children. Our design team spends a great deal of time, money, and talent engineering pool fencing that ensures a safer, more secure pool."

High quality pool safety fences are designed with critical elements such as longevity and climbability in mind. For example, Guardian has developed unique self-closing gate systems and mesh fencing that outlast traditional protective pool fences by a factor of three to one. Support poles are fabricated from T6 marine-grade aluminum.  The gate frame and other components are coated in rugged plastic to resist corrosion. The entire pool fence system also carries the industry's longest available warranty. Less substantial poles and barriers tend to deteriorate after only a few years, needing more repair and maintenance.

Guardian Pool Fence Systems, Inc. is the only manufacturer of removable mesh fencing to include its patented original self-closing gate, specifically designed and engineered to operate seamlessly with removable mesh fencing systems.

Winter pool safety is not a new concern for the company. Guardian gives clients access to a network of highly-trained dealers and installers who provide reliable and consistent integration of these top-quality components. The result is a system that performs at peak efficiency for many years, without deterioration. Many of the pool fences and gates built by Guardian have now been in continuous use for nearly two decades.

"During the off-season (or any down time in climates where pools are in use all year) it's essential to be sure pools are designed or improved with the primary focus placed on safety issues," says Sadinsky. "Accidents will happen, but there will be far fewer of them if safety precautions are taken beforehand."
