The Disney Dream was unveiled by the cruise line during a ceremony in New York City yesterday (29/10).
The 128,000-ton ship, which is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, has an official capacity of 2500 passengers, but will be capable of carrying over 1200 more.
Amongst the brand new liner’s many facilities is The District. The 18-and-over neighbourhood is described as an “adults’ playground”, and features several bars and clubs including the Skyline bar, with faux windows displaying changing city skylines, from Tokyo to Paris.
Other new features of the Disney Dream include the first ever “watercoaster”
Disney Cruise Line President Karl Holz said: "We've learned from the past 10 years, and have created an experience that sets a blueprint for family cruising; creativity, innovation and storytelling - it's what we are known for."
Disney Dream will join the Disney Cruise Line fleet in early 2011, and will sail from Port Canaveral in Orlando, Florida. Her sister ship, Disney Fantasy, will join the fleet in 2012.
